김장열 (기타)

Jangyul Kim, Ph.D., APR, Fellow PRSA Jangyul Robert Kim (Ph.D., University of Florida) is Associate Professor in the Department of Journalism and Media Communication at Colorado State University, USA. He is the first Korean awarded the professional designation of Accredited in Public Relations (APR) in 1991 and the first Fellow PRSA in 2016, by the Public Relations Society of America. From 2016 to 2018, he served as Director General, Consumer Risk Prevention Bureau in the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety of South Korea. Prior to joining academia, he was the founder & CEO of KorCom Porter Novelli, a full-service public relations firm based in Seoul. His clientele included numerous domestic and multinational firms, governments, and nonprofit organizations. Kim’s research interests include public diplomacy, international public relations, crisis and issues communications, health communication, corporate social responsibility, and strategic and marketing communications.

His manuscripts appear in top peer-review journals, including Journal of Public Relations Research, Public Relations Review, Asian Journal of Communications, Asia Pacific Public Relations Journal, and Journal of Public Relations Research (Korean). He is a seasoned classical guitarist and cellist.
